Yesterday around a quarter to nine, I got a call from Mom, “I’m so sick!” She described her symptoms, then said, “But I don’t think you need to come. I think I’ll be all right if I can just get some rest.”
Silly me, I took her at her word.
After several back and forth calls with her and her home nurse, I finally hit the road to her house around noon and got here at 2:30. Maybe one of the reasons I have Crohn’s disease–or at least the “something good” that has come out of it–is so I can know what to do in times like this. Mom’s symptoms were very similar to mine back in my worse days, so at least I knew how to help.
She’s a tad better now and resting easier, but it’ll be a couple of days before she’s back to normal.
Anyway, if you need me, call 1-800-Mom’s-place.
Tell her she’s in my prayers!

Cute… 1-800-moms place….I didn’t know you had Crohns (or at least I don’t remember reading that). So do I. It’s minimal. I’m glad your mom is doing okay.

I’m glad yours is minimal. Mine’s severe. I’ve had so many surgeries, the doctor doesn’t know where he’s going to cut next time. I’m praying there won’t be a next time!

I’ll keep you in my prayers, then. And keep me posted how you are doing and of course, your mom, too. :o)
