Whenever I’m involved in a novel, I find cute things related to it everywhere I look–and, of course, I have to have them, whatever they are. This time, I collected a group of things that I’m going to give away to one lucky winner.
Yes, it’s Winner Take All!
Here’s what’s included:
In The Final Ride, Aunt Adele has a hobby — cross stitch. I mention it a couple of times in the story. What I don’t mention is that she worked on something that was far more “country” than “western,” but she managed to get it done before the end of the book.
Okay, I’m lying. You can call me “Aunt Adele” here, because I made this lap quilt simply because I loved it. You may want to click on the picture to enlarge it.
I am excited to include this in my giveaway package because I truly enjoy sharing the things I’ve made. Labors of love need to be shared, don’t you think?
Since meal time and cooking are such a big part of the story this time, I’ve included this cookbook by famous cowboy chef, Kent Rollins.
Kent has been in Food Network’s competition “Chopped” twice. He came mighty close to winning both times. What I loved about him, and what the judges loved about him, was his simplicity in both manner and barbecuing techniques. If he’s the same in real life as he presented himself to be on TV, he’s someone to look up to.
Besides, he gave one of the most romantic quotes I’ve ever heard, and I’ll never forget it: “A man is only as good as the woman who holds him.”
Isn’t that sweet?! Sniff!!!
In Talon’s honor, I have an NIV New Testament, The Way for Cowboys, complete with the Psalms and some terrific devotionals written by some of the best cowboy preachers. The book itself isn’t as big as what it appears to be in the photo. It’s just a pocket-size, but it packs a powerful punch.
I’ve loved learning about Cowboy churches. To me, it just makes sense that the cowboy culture would have its own way to explain about God, salvation, redemption. It isn’t just for ranchers and ranch hands, but also for those involved in rodeos. Ever see a rider take a knee at an event? Chances are huge he’s a member of a Cowboy Church.
Last two things are just because I like them. I have a stuffed armadillo, to represent the great state of Texas, and a Christian/Western coffee mug to represent me — the ultimate coffeeholic:
So, here’s the entire set:
