Freelance editor Susan Stewart of Practical Inspirations believes in offering full service to her clients–which includes access to her knowledge of how to transfer manuscripts into digital-ready formats for Kindle, Nook, iPad, and others.
Formatting eBooks for Writers: a Practical Guide covers everything necessary for authors to be able to convert their books to digital formats. Nonfiction writers especially will appreciate this guide because it covers things like tables and charts in context, sidebars, footnotes and endnotes, illustrations–all the tricky things.
As fiction indies become more imaginative in ways to make their books stand out, they too are publishing more complicated formats. Susan provides hints and techniques that are useful for all DIY’ers in the industry.
The Kindle edition is available on Amazon for only $2.99, definitely worth the price. If you’re going solo in this biz, this is one guide you want to add to your tool kit.
Sounds good! I’ve been using Scrivener to convert to e-books. It was a bit tricky to figure out in the beginning, but now that it’s set up, pretty much all I have to do is click a button every time.
