Newest Venture

I told y’all I worked during our hunting trip to the Hill Country. I didn’t tell you what I was working on. While I’m certain you weren’t scratching your heads every night trying to figure it out, I’d like to think someone out there was at least mildly curious. And if not, I’m going to tell you anyway, because I’m excited about it. 😀

I was working on a manuscript my agent, Terry Burns, had written for Eddie Jones over at Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas. Terry’s daughter and another one of his editorial assistants had proofread it–which I didn’t know until I was already deep in it–and he’d already submitted to Eddie. But no one had edited it. Terry’s piece is directed at people who want to write in the Christian fiction genre. Or at least that’s how it started. After awhile, he got into the usual stuff you can find on virtually any blog, in any writing and publishing ezine or book. But what he started with was special.

When we got home, I called him. I reminded him that when he submits something to me, he should expect me to go after it with both guns blazing. He said, “I know. That’s why I sent it to you.”

Then, I kinda fussed that he’d diluted a truly wonderful book with stuff that’s available anywhere, and finally I pitched my ideas to him.

Long story short, I became a co-author of his book, Writing in Obedience. It’ll come out next year from Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas.
