Best Time to Read?–New Poll for Readers

Finding time to read isn’t always easy in the busy world we live in. I grab my time every chance I get. Early morning is best for me since I’m a morning person. Evenings work well, at least for as long as I can stay awake. When I can’t get enough time in, I settle for reading during commercials, which always extends past the ads and into the plot of the show. Too often my husband or mother will ask, “What happened?” and I won’t have a clue–unless they’re asking about the book.

In my past two polls, I discovered that 777 Peppermint Place readers like to have at least two books going at once and they like to read from a wide range of genres. Now I’d like to know–when do you read? What’s your best time? Do you have a set time?

If you have a really creative way of carving out time for yourself, or if the answers I’ve used for the poll don’t cover you, please share with us in the comments. I’d love to know how many others read while waiting for the train, like the lady in the picture.

At first I thought that EVERYONE reads in bed like me. Then I realized I was the first voter. Hee-hee.

I usually read before bed; I try to read about an hour or so. And I am now reading my first sci-fi book in ages. Needed a break from horror haha.

I simply cannot find a comfortable position to read in bed. And if I did, I’m sure I’d fall asleep. šŸ™‚ So, getting up before Dee and reading over coffee, or settling down in a super-comfortable chair outside under the trees . . . with more coffee (after I’ve worked myself to a nubbin for the day) are my favorite times.

I do the bulk of my reading in the morning because I fall asleep if I read too long in bed. But reading outside? Never got the knack. I’m too busy watching the critters!

My official reading time is an hour or two before bed. My favorite time of the day!

I sometimes read in bed, but my most common time is while I’m sitting in the car, waiting to pick up my kids from school. I purposely “get in line” about ten minutes early so I have some time. NO idea what I’ll do this summer! Need to find a different time.

  6. I read at work during my “Coffee Breaks.” It is in my contract that I take two fifteen minute breaks and an hour lunch (I work the Reception Desk and cannot leave at anytime without replace coverage not even for a drink of water or for the bathroom – so the breaks are essential.) However, It never takes that long to take care of those few chores, so I read for five minutes before going back. I read during my lunch hour, I read on the bus during my 30 min. commute and some evenings I read for a half hour before bed. Early morning before work is reserved for writing!
