Almost everyone who left comments Wednesday believes there is definitely such a thing as love at first sight. I can’t argue with them! Besides, the conception is lucky for a couple of my characters in Give the Lady a Ride, because their romance, although occurring primarily behind the scenes, moves along quickly in the story.
Anyone who’s read about my book under the Give the Lady a Ride tab above is familiar with my two main characters, Patricia Talbert and Talon Carlson, but they haven’t met Marie Lambeau and Chance Davis, both flamboyant in their own ways. Although the general format for a romance novel is to have one male character and one female character fall in love and face a happily-ever-after ending, I couldn’t help throwing in a happy ending for Patricia’s and Talon’s best friends too. In fact, it is through observing Marie and Chance that Patricia and Talon get the nerve to try love again. For a couple of behind-the-scenes characters, they do have a lot of influence!
I can’t believe how quickly the debut of Ride is coming. March 14! I’ve waited and longed for that day for two years, and now that it’s so near, I’m a nervous wreck! There’s so much to do–book signings to arrange, blog tours, reviews, not to mention pumping the novel in websites like GoodReads and Authonomy. I’ve been having so much trouble with my internet service I keep having nightmares that I can’t get on line to promote my book. Yikes!
It’ll be okay . . . right?
The winner of that cute little Texas armadillo is Sheila Hollinghead!
